Principles that move the needle

📋
Maintain your error log
Log every wrong answer immediately — topic, why you missed it, the correct method. Both plans hinge on this habit. The targeted week only works if you’ve kept this log faithfully from day one.
60–90 minute sessions only
Break weekly hours into 2–3 focused sessions, never one long cram day. Spaced repetition across the week locks in retention far more effectively. Cognitive load drops sharply after 90 minutes.
📐
Official materials only
Khan Academy SAT and the College Board question bank match the real test exactly. Third-party tests give misleading score predictions. Reserve them only for extra drill — never for scored practice.

Common questions

Everything you need to know

Quick answers to the questions parents and students ask most before booking.

Are sessions online or in-person?
All UndoubtMe sessions are delivered online via video call, so they’re available to students anywhere in the UAE — Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and beyond.
How many sessions per week?
Each week includes 1.5 hrs of Math and 1.5 hrs of Reading & Writing — that’s 3 hrs of instruction per week, split across 2 sessions of 90 minutes each. Practice tests are added every 3–4 weeks. The full programme runs 30–40 hours over approximately 10–13 weeks, depending on your pace and exam date.
What SAT score do UAE universities require?
Requirements vary by institution. As a general guide: UAE University and Khalifa University typically require 1100+; American University of Sharjah (AUS) around 1200+; New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is highly competitive at 1500+. Your tutor will help you target the right score for your specific university list.
Which Digital SAT format do you teach?
We teach the current Bluebook Digital SAT format — the adaptive two-module test on College Board’s official platform. All practice tests and materials are fully aligned to the 2024+ format.
When does the next group cohort start?
Group cohorts run in cycles aligned to upcoming SAT test dates. Contact us to find out when the next batch starts and to reserve your spot — cohort sizes are intentionally small, so availability is limited.
What if I don’t know my weak areas yet?
That’s exactly what the free trial session is for. Your tutor will walk you through a diagnostic, identify your top weak areas, and recommend the right plan and format before you commit to anything.
Can I switch between group and 1-on-1?
Yes — many students use a blended approach, attending group sessions for topic coverage and booking individual 1-on-1 sessions for targeted weak-area drilling. Talk to your counsellor about combining both formats.
Is the first trial session really free?
Yes, completely free and no commitment required. The trial session includes a diagnostic discussion, a walkthrough of your options, and a personalised plan recommendation. You only proceed if you feel it’s the right fit.
🎓 Just finished Year 11?

These questions are probably bothering you too

You’ve just cleared a big milestone — and now SAT prep feels like the next unknown. Here’s everything first-timers at your stage actually want answered.

I just finished Y11 — is this the right time to start?
Yes — post-Y11 summer is genuinely the best window to begin. School pressure is off, you have uninterrupted time, and starting now means you can sit the SAT in Y11 with a full Y12 retest buffer if needed. Students who start prep in summer consistently score higher than those who begin mid-term.
How long will prep take starting from a Y11 baseline?
Most students starting from a Y11 baseline need 3–4 months of structured prep to reach a competitive score. That’s roughly 30–40 hours of instruction spread across the programme. Starting in the summer gives you that window comfortably before a November or December test date.
Is my school Maths strong enough, or are there gaps to fill first?
For most Y11 students — whether IGCSE, IB, or American curriculum — the school Maths foundation is sufficient to begin SAT prep. The SAT tests up to Algebra II and some basic statistics, which overlaps well with Y11 content. Your tutor will run a diagnostic in the trial session to spot any specific gaps and address them early in the programme.
I’m in IGCSE / IB / American curriculum — does my school system affect my prep?
It affects your starting point, not your potential. IGCSE students often have a strong Maths base but need more work on SAT-style Reading & Writing. IB students are usually comfortable with analytical reading but may need to adjust to the SAT’s specific question formats. American curriculum students typically have the most overlap. Your tutor will calibrate the plan to your curriculum background from day one.
Should I aim to sit the SAT once or plan for multiple attempts?
Planning for two attempts is the smart strategy. Most students sit for the first time in Y11 (typically November or March) and use that real-test experience to identify gaps before a second, higher-stakes attempt in Y12. Starting prep now in the Y11 summer puts you perfectly on track for this two-attempt approach.
How do I figure out what score I should be targeting?
Your target score depends on where you want to apply. As a starting guide: 1100+ for UAE public universities, 1200+ for AUS, 1300+ for most mid-tier US universities, and 1450–1550+ for highly selective programmes including NYUAD. You don’t need a final university list right now — your tutor will help you set a realistic target in the trial session based on your ambitions and current level.
What score improvement is realistic if I’m starting from scratch?
Starting from scratch is completely normal at your stage — most Y11 students have never seen the SAT before. Our students average +210 points of improvement across the programme. For students starting early with sufficient prep time, gains of 250–300+ points are achievable. The key is starting with enough lead time, which you have right now.
Should I prep over summer or wait until Y11 starts?
Summer. Without question. Y11 is one of the most academically demanding years — IAs, coursework, mocks, and subject depth all pile on simultaneously. Students who try to fit SAT prep around a full Y11 schedule almost always feel stretched. Using the summer to build your foundation means you arrive in Y11 with your SAT largely under control, freeing you to focus on school.
