How we help
A Level Chemistry
Physical chemistry (moles, equilibrium, kinetics, energetics) rewards careful calculation and clear working. Organic chemistry rewards a systematic map of reactions and mechanisms. Inorganic chemistry rewards organised recall. We teach each in the way it is best learned, and train students to write mechanisms with correct curly arrows.
A Level Physics
Physics marks go to students who can set up a problem from principles instead of hunting for a formula. We focus on estimation, units, uncertainties, graph analysis and the long-answer wording used in mechanics, fields, waves, electricity and, where in your syllabus, nuclear physics.
A Level Biology
Biology is language-heavy and mark-scheme-driven. We practise precise definitions, extended responses, data interpretation and the maths skills (rates, statistical tests, magnification) that are tested more than students expect.
Practical papers and uncertainty
Practical assessment is often an area where students are least prepared. We cover planning, tables, graphs, uncertainty and evaluation, using your board’s format.
Using past papers well
Past papers are most useful when they are used in stages. First, topic-by-topic questions with the mark scheme open to learn the wording. Second, mixed questions with a timer. Third, full papers in exam conditions. After each, the student reviews every lost mark and writes the correction in their own words. Support alongside school
We are not a replacement for school lessons. Tutors work alongside your school’s scheme of work, so sessions reinforce what is being taught and fill gaps, instead of introducing a different approach.

What to expect
- Foundation help: first term, new to A Level, moving from IGCSE.
- Targeted help: weak topics identified, regular topic practice.
- Exam sprint: final 6-8 weeks, papers and error analysis.
- Chemistry: forgetting reaction conditions and state symbols; unbalanced equations; weak organic mechanisms.
- Physics: unit errors, rounding too early, and unclear reasoning in long answers.
- Biology: describing a graph but not explaining it, and using imprecise terms.
- All sciences: not reading the command word (describe, explain, suggest, evaluate).
- Leaving too little time for past papers in the final term.
- Weeks 1-2: diagnostic and gap list in each science.
- Weeks 3-6: core units with weekly topic questions.
- Weeks 7-8: practical and data-analysis skills.
- Weeks 9-10: full papers and error review.
