Digital SAT Reading & Writing Tutor in Dubai
The Digital SAT Reading and Writing section has two modules (54 questions in total, 64 minutes) and is adaptive, like Math. Unlike the old SAT, each question is attached to a short passage, so reading speed, precision and knowing the question type matter more than long-passage stamina. Check the College Board website for the current format before your test date.
How we help
The four content areas
Questions are grouped into Craft and Structure (vocabulary in context, purpose, text structure), Information and Ideas (central ideas, evidence, inferences), Standard English Conventions (grammar and punctuation) and Expression of Ideas (transitions and rhetorical synthesis).
Grammar and punctuation: learn the rules
Conventions questions follow a small set of rules: sentence boundaries, subject-verb agreement, pronoun reference, modifiers, commas, semicolons and colons. Students who learn these rules gain marks quickly, because there is little ambiguity in what is tested.
Reading questions: evidence over opinion
The correct answer must be supported by the text. We teach students to underline the claim in the question, find the line in the passage that answers it, and eliminate options that are true in general but not stated or implied.
Vocabulary in context
The tested words are often familiar words used in less common ways. We teach students to predict a meaning from the sentence first, then check the options, instead of choosing the fanciest word.
Rhetorical synthesis questions
Some questions give a set of bullet-point notes and ask which sentence best achieves a stated goal, such as introducing a topic to an audience or comparing two things. The skill is to read the goal first, then choose the option that uses only the relevant notes. We practise this as its own question type because many students lose marks by including every note.
Building reading speed and accuracy
Because passages are short, accuracy matters more than raw speed. We teach students to read the question first, locate the relevant sentence, and test each option against the text. Students who read widely, including articles in science, history and literature, find this easier, and we suggest a short weekly reading routine alongside practice sets.
Schools our students come from
Our students study at many of Dubai’s leading schools, following the IGCSE, A Level and IB Diploma programmes. We are an independent tutoring service and are not affiliated with any school.
